Storytelling. No beating a great book.

Let it be known, I am a sucker for good storytelling. Be it escapism, romance, or a heroic tale to push me towards greatness. I've sat through some great movies, ones that I want to return to many times. Movies I love to put on my shelf - love to associate my identity with.

But there is nothing like being knee deep into a book you love. Especially one that you've been working on for a few weeks, even a month... and you start to realize there is a time that you will finish this book in the future, and it will no longer be a part of your life. Then you are in a impasse. When you want to read so badly... cause you love the book, but the more you read, the closer you get to the end, and the time this book is no longer a part of your life.

[i'm currently reading The Time Traveler's Wife.]

Friday Night Lights Theme Music

I just finished disc two of Friday Night Lights Season 1 on DVD. I am completely wrapped around Coach Taylor's finger. As the DVD menu continues to cycle as I try decide how I feel about Riggins... Do I want to become a sexy slacker/bad-boy... or do I hate myself for thinking Riggins is defined by that. Is he not more than that -- he's just a victim of his current surroundings. Why doesn't anyone believe in him!?!?
The theme music is playing at the cut scenes the top menu are playing highlights from this season. This music is absolutely perfect for everyone of those cut scenes. How does someone write a subtle theme like this? One that keeps growing and growing... and can I get someone to follow me around with a PA system playing this music when I need it? I could overcome any high school obstacle with it's assistance.

PS: I love the fall. I can only get into a show like this in the fall.
